“Shell”, in different languages, may refer to the coquillage (French, seashell/eggshell), the packaging, a false promise, or a beautiful appearance without content…

I use yarn, a soft yet resilient material, to crochet shells for my drawings on paper. The sketches are thus “shelled”: disguised without being hidden, wrapped without being covered, packaged without being sealed, protected without being secured…
